Every child is unique and every child has different learning needs.
At Dharani, we provide students with the support they need in order to set and meet individual learning targets. Differentiation is an integral part of teaching and learning. This may involve utilizing collaborative and cooperative learning, a variety of learning practices, creative approaches to teaching and learning, differing formats and modes of exploring and presenting knowledge and understanding being made available to the students. However, in those cases where students require instruction beyond regular teaching practices, learning support is provided.
Support is carefully tailored to the needs of the individual, with a strong emphasis on multi-sensory learning, and developing strategies and methods that can be used by the student to underpin independent learning across the curriculum. Lessons are normally either literacy or mathematics based, and as a student progresses through the school the emphasis shifts more to study skills, essay writing and revision techniques.

Support for all
Dharani always welcome students with a wide variety of learning strengths, styles and differences. We encourage all students to become confident, ambitious and independent learners. The following support facilities are provided to address the various needs of the students
Dharani's teachers works closely with one another to help all students to achieve their potential. We believe that developing a student’s meta-cognition – their understanding of how they learn – lies at the heart of effective studying, and that a student’s skill in managing his or her own learning needs is essential to success at school and beyond. In a vast majority of students, tangible individual attention provided by teachers is more than enough to clear any shortcomings in them
- Classroom attention & effective studying
- Individual attention to students
A student may require some additional support with their learning at any point in their Dharani life. Pupils arriving at the school with a recognised need for support will be assigned a specialist teacher who will liaise closely with staff and parents to ensure that the right programme is provided for that learner. The student is screened through their performance in regular exams and class assessments, and support is offered if it is deemed appropriate. These students typically get special coaching from teachers targetting their specific difficulties.
